Magpies - A Poetry Scavenger Hunt This workshop will be in two parts: firstly you’ll be given a list of things to scavenge (can you find something see-through? Something bent out of shape? Something unloved?) Then you’ll collect them (via photography, drawing, or simply putting it in your pocket) and come back to the studio to write. Once back at the studio, we’ll workshop poem ideas, with lots of fun, quick-fire exercises and prompts. You’ll have some focused writing and editing time before we finish the day by creating a gallery of our items and writing. Suitable for anyone who: wants to sharpen their poetic ‘eyesight’; is looking for new ideas and wants to find inspiration; has felt in a creative ‘rut’ and wants their spark back; is feeling full of ideas and wants a place to explore them! With writer and creative producer Emma Joliffe who led our popular and successful Poetry Mixtape and Page to Stage workshops. Cancellation Policy
Please note our classes are mostly aimed for adults. Please get in touch to ask if you are unsure. Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. T&Cs Terms & Conditions • You can book places on our classes, workshops and events on our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY • Places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis. Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to reserve your place. • Bookings and payments will be confirmed by email. • The materials and tools needed for each class varies, so please refer to the course description but don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries. • If you are unable to attend a class, workshop or event you may send someone else in your place. You must let us know the name of the attendee prior to the class, workshop or event taking place. • Confirmed & paid bookings are not eligible for payment refunds. • You can transfer to another class, workshop or event or receive a credit note if you notify us at least 14 days before the date of the class, workshop or event you are booked on to attend. • In exceptional circumstances, where we may have to cancel one of our advertised classes, workshops or events, you will be offered a full refund. • If a class, workshop or event is cancelled our liability is solely for the cost of the booking fee, not for any other costs you may have incurred such as materials you may have purchased in advance, travel costs or accommodation. • Attendees at our classes, workshops and events are not permitted to use any of our instruction sheets, photography or designs for their own classes or other commercial concerns.
