Introduction To Stencilling Course This six-week course offers a hands-on introduction to the versatile art of stencilling. Ideal for all skill levels, the classes will cover a range of techniques for stencilling onto a variety of surfaces. Using a selection of different stencils, you will learn about pattern and colour balance, how to build a design, working with repeating pattern, border and motif stencils. There will be lots of expert guidance and demonstrations, but also plenty of opportunity to experiment and play. This course is designed to inspire creativity, expand skillsets, and provide participants with the confidence to continue stencilling beyond the class. All stencils, paints and brushes will be provided and included in the course fee, but please feel free to bring your own items to class. Session 1 Introduction to stencilling/ techniques/building a pattern/ombre. Working on paper, just experimenting and having fun. Session 2 Cards and wrapping papers. Session 3 Tea towels - Scandi folk style, red and white Session 4 Napkins - Botanical style, overlaying, creating balanced placement, colour blending. Tonal colour, greens etc Session 5 Drawstring canvas bag - Contemporary geometric, bold bright colour Week 6: The final week offers participants the creative freedom to apply their stencilling skills to any project of their choice. Nicolette has a background in Textile design and a love of all things patterned. After a long career in the fashion industry, she began teaching on Fashion & Textile courses and running creative workshops for adults and children. Cancellation Policy
Please note our classes are mostly aimed for adults. Please get in touch to ask if you are unsure. Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. T&Cs Terms & Conditions • You can book places on our classes, workshops and events on our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY • Places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis. Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to reserve your place. • Bookings and payments will be confirmed by email. • The materials and tools needed for each class varies, so please refer to the course description but don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries. • If you are unable to attend a class, workshop or event you may send someone else in your place. You must let us know the name of the attendee prior to the class, workshop or event taking place. • Confirmed & paid bookings are not eligible for payment refunds. • You can transfer to another class, workshop or event or receive a credit note if you notify us at least 14 days before the date of the class, workshop or event you are booked on to attend. • In exceptional circumstances, where we may have to cancel one of our advertised classes, workshops or events, you will be offered a full refund. • If a class, workshop or event is cancelled our liability is solely for the cost of the booking fee, not for any other costs you may have incurred such as materials you may have purchased in advance, travel costs or accommodation. • Attendees at our classes, workshops and events are not permitted to use any of our instruction sheets, photography or designs for their own classes or other commercial concerns.
