Embroidered Hastings Mackerel Workshop Join local hand embroiderer Becky Hogg for some sea themed hand stitching in a one day workshop and make yourself a shiny Hastings Mackerel hanging decoration or brooch. The Mackerel is stitched with silver plated and black metal threads, over a shimmery silk/metal organza in a variety of stitches including: - Couching, - Or Nue (couching with a colour) - Cutwork All traditional hand embroidery skills used in this beautiful style of embroidery. The design has the addition of a metallic leather head and fin for maximum shine! Once complete the Mackerel can be cut out and backed with a pre cut silver plywood and made into a brooch or decoration approximately 8x2cm. You will be provided with a kit of all the threads and materials and an illustrated booklet to refer back to. This metal thread project is perfect as an introduction to Metal thread embroidery. Please note our classes are mostly aimed for adults. Please get in touch to ask if you are unsure. Our classes are non refundable. Due our small class sizes it is very difficult to transfer your booking to a different date. If you cannot attend a class and are able to notify us at least two weeks before the class starts, it may be possible to fit you in on another date but this is not guaranteed so please give us as much notice as possible to increase your chances. T&Cs Terms & Conditions • You can book places on our classes, workshops and events on our website or in person at Bus Stop Studios, 53 London Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex TN37 6AY • Places are booked on a first-come-first-served basis. Full payment is required at the time of booking in order to reserve your place. • Bookings and payments will be confirmed by email. • The materials and tools needed for each class varies, so please refer to the course description but don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries. • If you are unable to attend a class, workshop or event you may send someone else in your place. You must let us know the name of the attendee prior to the class, workshop or event taking place. • Confirmed & paid bookings are not eligible for payment refunds. • You can transfer to another class, workshop or event or receive a credit note if you notify us at least 14 days before the date of the class, workshop or event you are booked on to attend. • In exceptional circumstances, where we may have to cancel one of our advertised classes, workshops or events, you will be offered a full refund. • If a class, workshop or event is cancelled our liability is solely for the cost of the booking fee, not for any other costs you may have incurred such as materials you may have purchased in advance, travel costs or accommodation. • Attendees at our classes, workshops and events are not permitted to use any of our instruction sheets, photography or designs for their own classes or other commercial concerns.
